Connect your workspace
In the firmo dashboard, open Settings, then Integrations, and complete the Slack OAuth flow for your workspace.

Invite the app to channels
Add the Slack app to public or private channels where you want messages or presence data. The app only sees what it is invited to, consistent with Slack access rules.

Add widgets to playlists
Use Slack messages and Slack online count widgets on slides, pick channels, and publish to your screens like any other content.

What you should know
Below is how the Slack integration behaves in firmo, in plain language.
On-screen widgets
Slack messages shows recent text and media from channels you select. Slack online count shows an approximate active member count for the workspace using sampled presence data. Attachments may be loaded through firmo so your player can show permitted file previews.
Access and permissions
The integration uses standard Slack bot permissions to read channel history (for channels the app is in), list channels, read files linked to messages, and read basic user info for display names and avatars. We request the minimum scopes needed for these widgets.
Data handling
Content from Slack is processed to render your signage and is stored as needed to sync and display it. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, including subprocessors when Slack is connected.
Disconnect or uninstall
You can disconnect the integration from firmo under Settings, then Integrations. Workspace admins can also remove or restrict the app from the Slack side. Either action stops new data from flowing into firmo.
